The sales of golf clubs have also seen significant growth, with putter sales up 32% in units and 36% in dollars since 2020, wedge sales up 64% in units and 74% in dollars, irons up 83% in units and 93% in dollars, and woods up 5% in units and 10% in dollars. These figures indicate a strong market for golf equipment and a high level of engagement among players.

In terms of player skill levels, the average male handicap is 14.2, while the average female handicap is 27.5. A handicap of four or less places a golfer in the top eight percent of all players, with scratch (or better) golfers representing less than two percent of the total. It’s worth noting that 90% of golfers do not carry an official handicap, suggesting a wide range of abilities among players.
