Kicking off the season on Saturday, Oct. 19, the AFCO will present a Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Music of Gustav Holst. While Holst is best known for his iconic composition „The Planets,“ this event will delve into the composer’s lesser-known works, highlighting his unique blend of influences that include Hindu spirituality, English folk tunes, and classical composers such as Edvard Grieg and Richard Wagner. The celebration will offer a deeper appreciation of Holst’s musical legacy.

In honor of Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11, the AFCO will pay tribute to our fallen heroes with a Memorial Concert. This solemn and poignant event will serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served in the armed forces, providing a moment of reflection and remembrance for the audience.

As the holiday season approaches, the AFCO will spread Christmas cheer with multiple performances of Christmas from the Daines Concert Hall in December. Accompanied by guest soloists Mat and Savanna Shaw, a father-daughter musical duo from Utah, the concerts promise to be a festive and heartwarming experience. The Shaw duo, known for their viral music videos and appearances on popular TV shows, will bring their unique blend of talent to the stage, adding a special touch to the holiday performances.

After ringing in the New Year, the AFCO will present Encore! The Music of Broadway and Hollywood on Saturday, Feb. 8, featuring guest artist Casey Elliot. Hailing from Layton, Elliot is a well-known vocalist in Utah, particularly as a member of the vocal group Gentri. With his impressive vocal range and acting skills, Elliot is sure to dazzle audiences with his performance, bringing the magic of Broadway and Hollywood to life on stage.

Closing out the season on a high note, the AFCO will join forces with the Cache Children’s Choir to present Look at the World: The Choral Music of John Rutter on Saturday, April 26. Sir John Rutter, an esteemed English composer and conductor, is renowned for his contributions to choral music, and this collaboration promises to be a fitting tribute to his illustrious career.

Season tickets for the AFCO’s 2024-25 season will be available for purchase starting on Monday, Aug. 19, offering a 10 percent discount for subscribers.
