Education Fair 2024 by YB Dato Lo at Boulevard Shopping Mall this Saturday

The public, especially high school students and school leavers, are invited to attend the ‚YB Dato Lo Education Fair 2024‘ at Boulevard Shopping Mall in Kuching, this Saturday.

State Assemblyman (ADUN) for Batu Kitang, Dato Lo Khere Chiang, stated that the program, which will run from 10 am to 6 pm, will provide a platform for those looking to further their education.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the education fair will offer a variety of academic and vocational pathways for interested students.

„The education fair will be an important event for students, especially school leavers, to gather information about the educational opportunities offered by both public and private higher education institutions,“ he said.

He made these remarks during a press conference for the ‚YB Dato Lo Education Fair 2024‘ organized by the SUPP Batu Kitang Service Center.

Expanding on his statement, Lo explained that the education fair aims to connect students and parents with local and international universities and colleges.

To ensure widespread participation, invitations have been sent to most high schools in Kuching to encourage them to inform students about the education fair.

Additionally, he mentioned that they will provide special support to Form 5 and Form 6 students from the Salvation Army and Boys Home during the education fair.

„The SUPP Batu Kitang Service Center will be there to assist and guide them through the application process and financial aid to higher education institutions because we believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity for a bright future.

„To support these students, we will also donate funds to the Salvation Army to help with their education programs,“ he explained.

Furthermore, Lo stated that they will also provide some incentives to a few outstanding Form 5 and Form 6 students randomly selected from high schools in the area.

„In addition to school students, this education fair will also cater to the needs of working adults by showcasing institutions that offer part-time courses, allowing individuals to effectively balance work and education.

„This initiative aims to open up new career horizons and support lifelong learning. We believe that this education carnival will be a catalyst for many success stories.

„Let us together invest in the future of our young people and empower lifelong learning for all,“ he added.

It is understood that 22 public and private higher education institutions and three financial aid agencies will participate in the ‚YB Dato Lo Education Fair 2024‘.

These include HELP University, UCSI University, Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, FAME International College, Curtin University Malaysia, Open University Malaysia (OUM), MSU College Sarawak, Yayasan Sarawak, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), and Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA).
