Marco Island Academy freshman golfer Kaden Latreille, at just 15 years old, made a big splash in the high school golf scene by winning the first tournament of his career. The Bishop Verot Invitational at Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero on August 23-24 was the stage for Latreille’s impressive performance, where he shot three under par to claim the individual championship.

Latreille’s victory was even more remarkable considering he was the only golfer in the tournament to finish under par. He shot a one under par 71 on Friday and followed it up with a two under par 70 on Saturday, securing his place as the tournament’s medalist. Despite being tied for the lead after the first round, Latreille remained composed and focused throughout the competition.

In an interview following his win, Latreille expressed his confidence and calm demeanor on the course. He mentioned that he wasn’t nervous during the tournament as he knew he was playing well and had nothing to be anxious about.
