The upcoming regional elections in Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) have seen three pairs of candidates registering to participate in the race. The first pair, H Husairi Abdi and Didi Buhari, submitted their registration on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Following them, on Thursday morning, the second pair, Sahrujani and Hero Setiawan, also completed their registration process. Later in the afternoon around 2:30 PM, the third pair, Horman and Surya, arrived at the KPU office to register their candidacy.
According to Ihsan Rahmani, the Chairman of the KPU Kabupaten HSU, all three pairs of candidates have submitted complete documentation. He mentioned that the registration process for the prospective bupati candidates has been smooth and without any issues.
The next step for these three pairs of candidates is to undergo a series of health tests at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Banjarmasin. The candidates have been advised to bring sportswear and shoes for the health tests. The KPU will accompany the candidates during the health tests, and the results are expected to be received before September 4, 2024.
Ihsan expressed his gratitude to all parties involved, including security forces and the Bawaslu, for their support during the registration process for the bupati and wakil bupati candidates in HSU. He also mentioned that other stages of the election process are being prepared, such as the announcement of the Provisional Voter List (DPS), which will be followed by any objections from voters and necessary corrections before finalizing the Permanent Voter List (DPT).
