There are five online courses available, each requiring a fee ranging from $19.95 to $49.95. However, all online courses operate on a „pass or don’t pay“ basis, ensuring that hunters receive value for their investment. On the other hand, the DNR classroom course is free of charge, providing an accessible option for those who prefer face-to-face instruction. Davison acknowledges that individuals have different learning styles, and it is essential to cater to these preferences to ensure that all hunters receive the necessary education.
Completion of a hunter education course is mandatory for individuals born on or after January 1, 1961, who purchase a season hunting license in Georgia, hunt without adult supervision at the age of 12 or older, or hunt big game on a wildlife management area. However, there are exceptions for those who purchase short-term hunting licenses or hunt on their own land or the land of their parents or legal guardians. These regulations are in place to promote safety, ethical hunting practices, and conservation efforts within the hunting community.
