Pop-Up Animal Adoption Center Now Open at The Avenue at White Marsh

The Avenue at White Marsh in Nottingham, MD, has opened a temporary pet adoption center for the month of August. This initiative is part of a statewide push for 3,000 adoptions, organized by the Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA). The campaign aims to support animals in need of forever homes and is a collaborative effort between BARCS, Baltimore County Animal Services, the Baltimore Humane Society, and the Maryland SPCA.

The adoption center, located at 8157 Honeygo Blvd. Suite G, is a spacious 2,600 square feet area provided by The Avenue. The center will host pet adoption events every weekend throughout the month of August. The Avenue has also generously donated $500 each to BARCS Animal Shelter, the Maryland SPCA, the Baltimore Humane Society, and Friends of Baltimore County Dogs.

The first weekend of the adoption event saw a heartwarming success, with thirty-eight pets finding their forever families. However, there are still three more weekends left to find a furry friend. Adoption fees are waived during this special event, making it easier for families to welcome a new pet into their homes.

The remaining adoption events at The Avenue are as follows:
– Friday 8/16 from 4-7PM (Participating Shelters: BARCS)
– Saturday 8/17 from 12-4PM (Participating Shelters: BARCS)
– Sunday 8/18 from 12-4PM (Participating Shelters: BARCS)
– Friday 8/23 from 4-7PM (Participating Shelters: Baltimore County Animal Services, Maryland SPCA)
– Saturday 8/24 from 12-4PM (Participating Shelters: Baltimore County Animal Services)
– Sunday 8/25 from 12-4PM (Participating Shelters: Baltimore County Animal Services)
– Friday 8/30 from 4-7PM (Participating Shelters: BARCS, Baltimore County Animal Services, Maryland SPCA)
– Saturday 8/31 from 12-4PM (Participating Shelters: BARCS, Baltimore County Animal Services, Maryland SPCA)

In addition to adopting a pet, visitors can also contribute by donating essential items such as dog/puppy food, cat/kitten food, bully sticks, peanut butter, treats, toys, and more. These donations will help provide comfort and care to the animals awaiting their forever homes.

The Avenue’s website encourages everyone to „give a shelter pet a chance“ and expresses gratitude in advance for any support. More information about the adoption events and donation items can be found on The Avenue’s website.

Overall, this temporary pet adoption center at The Avenue at White Marsh is a wonderful opportunity for families to open their hearts and homes to a furry companion in need. By participating in this initiative, individuals can make a positive impact on the lives of shelter animals and help them find the love and care they deserve.
